Highest United Way Honor to Recognize Pilot Publisher David Woronoff
The United Way of Moore County and its board of directors are set to recognize David Woronoff on January 17, 2008 at the Cornerstone Award Banquet with its highest award. The Cornerstone Award is given by the United Way of Moore County to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment, creativity, leadership, volunteerism, inspiration and sustained service with broad scope of impact on the quality of life in the community.
"Since moving to our community, David has been a friend and partner to Moore County. Though sitting in a difficult seat sometimes, we feel he truly has the well being of the community at heart. He has history with the United Way of Moore County and has remained a loyal supporter over the years. We are pleased to give this honor to him in light of his service to our community," said United Way executive director, Linda Pearson.
Lee Riggsbee, Vice President for Crescent State Bank and United Way Campaign Chair says, "The Cornerstone is an opportunity for the United Way of Moore County to say thanks and to recognize those who have driven resources to create an impact in our community. This is a celebration and I'm sure the roasters will enjoy the chance to honor Mr. Woronoff."
This will be the fifth designation of a Cornerstone of the Community Award from the United Way of Moore County. David Woronoff joins the company of Dr. John Dempsey, President of Sandhills Community College, golf legend Peggy Kirk Bell, businessman and entrepreneur, Felton J. Capel, Sr., and last year's Cornerstone Award recipient, FirstHealth of the Carolinas Chief Executive Officer, Charles Frock.
The award will be presented at a dinner and roast on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Little River Golf Resort beginning with a reception at 6:00 P.M. For ticket information contact the United Way of Moore County at (910) 692-2413. |
