RIGGSBEE NAMED TO CHAIR UNITED WAY BOARD

Lee Riggsbee is the 2008–09 United Way Chairman of the Board. Riggsbee is Vice President of Commercial Lending for Crescent State Bank and has been serving the United Way Board since 2005. "We look forward to his solid leadership and really making things happen with Lee and the combination of leaders he has assembled," said Linda Pearson, United Way Executive Director.

"It is a privilege to serve the United Way of Moore County and assist our 22 partner agencies to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Moore County. These agencies and their volunteers work tirelessly to meet the increasing demand for their services. We are facing economic challenges dictating that the demand for their services continue to grow at a higher than normal rate," says Riggsbee.

Our goal is to impress upon our community that an investment in the United Way of Moore County helps improve the quality of life for all of us. If we can help a child receive a better education, a family achieve financial stability, or someone receive health care assistance, then we are a stronger community," he continued. "I look forward to working with our board and our partner agencies because I know we are making a difference everyday."
