FREE PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNT CARDS

Through the United Way of Moore County, more than 2500 free FamilyWize prescription drug discount cards are available to assist people with the cost of their prescription drugs at our partner agencies, at the United Way office, and online at www.unitedwaymoco.com.

Most pharmacies in the United States accept these prescription drug discount cards.  They have no usage limits, age requirements or registration forms. The prescription drug discount cards are for individuals and families with no prescription drug insurance coverage.

Individuals with Internet access can also print a card by visiting the website at www.unitedwaymoco.com. These cards may also be obtained from Friend to Friend, Sandhills Coalition for Human Care, and the Salvation Army or by calling United Way of Moore County at 692-2413.

The cards are being distributed free of charge, courtesy of United Way of Moore County and 270 other United Way agencies around the country in 47 states, as part of a $50 million national, in-kind donation of discount prescription cards coordinated by Membership Services Corporation, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and its industry partners.

“Membership Services Corporation and its industry partners are very excited to partner with participating local United Way agencies to get the FamilyWize card into the hands of families who most need the help,” said United Way of Moore County Executive Director, Linda Pearson. “These cards can reduce prescription drug costs by an average of 20 percent.  Working with reputable and established charities like our United Way is a good way to reach the people who really need to save money on prescription drugs.”
